International Symposium on Service-Learning (ISSL)

Service-Learning in Higher Education in an Era of Technological Opportunity, Global Engagement, and Renewed Civic Commitment

As AI and digital technologies rapidly reshape higher education, this year’s symposium invites bold ideas, fresh insights, and innovative practices that redefine what service learning can become within a digitally infused and globally connected academic landscape. In a world marked by deep interdependence and complex societal challenges, service learning continues to serve as a transformative pedagogy—integrating community engagement with academic excellence, strengthening critical inquiry, and fostering ethical leadership.

We seek contributions that explore how technological opportunity can deepen global partnerships, expand access, and renew civic responsibility—equipping students not only to navigate complexity, but to act with purpose and accountability in their communities and beyond.

Now, in the age of AI, we ask: Where do we go next?
