Profile
Shanté Neff is the Transformation Programme Coordinator. A social scientist by training, Shanté designs and facilitates student-centered transformation training, development and experiential learning interventions in residence and faculty environments at Stellenbosch University. Intervention topics include, inter alia, race, gender, sexuality and disability. She is also responsible for the Imbizo 356 Calendar of Engagement. Centered around South Africa’s national public holidays, the Imbizo 365 Calendar of Engagement is an institutional calendar which aims to foster campus-wide critical engagement amongst both staff and students.
Shanté attained her BA Humanities, BA (Hons) Sociology and MA Sociology cum laude from Stellenbosch University. She is currently PhD candidate too, researching the nature of Black women’s marginality in higher education institutions.
