About
Stop Trafficking of People (STOP) is a South African non-profit dedicated to combating human trafficking through awareness, advocacy, prevention, and survivor support. Working nationally and in local communities, STOP partners with law enforcement, schools, faith groups, and civil society to break cycles of exploitation and restore dignity to those affected.
Why this matters
Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes worldwide, and South Africa is both a source and transit country. STOP addresses this crisis by providing education, mobilising communities, supporting survivors, and driving systemic change to protect vulnerable individuals.
Criteria
What Volunteers Can Do
- Assist with awareness campaigns in schools, churches, and communities.
- Provide administrative or research support to advocacy and policy initiatives.
- Support fundraising and event organisation.
- Contribute to communications and content creation (social media, newsletters, resources).
- Engage in community mobilisation to strengthen local prevention networks.
Duration
2 days per week incl. Tuesdays for prayer meetings and training.
